Meet Dr. Thier, OD
Dr. Stephanie Thier was born in Silver City, New Mexico. She studied biology and chemistry at the University of South Dakota and earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Illinois College of Optometry. While in optometry school, Dr. Thier also pursued her clinical education in Michigan, Alaska, Illinois, and South Dakota. Dr. Thier brought these various experiences to Worthington and introduces a new concept in eye care: SPECNIQUE. She is recognized by her colleagues as a leader in Cataract evaluation, anterior segment, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, and specialty contact lens fitting such as options for astigmatism and “mature” eyes. Dr Thier is a member of the American Optometric Association and Minnesota Optometric Association. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with her five children and husband, and keeping up to date on the latest technology and education. Dr Thier also has an eye for fashion and is always finding hot new frames to add to Worthington’s only independently and privately owned boutique: Specnique.

Meet Jill, ABOC
Jill was born in Peterson, Iowa. She studied at Grandview University before falling into her career as an optician, although she has had a personal relationship with glasses since age 9. She enjoyed learning about the eyes and helping patients find the correct eyewear to suit their optical needs. Jill pursued her optical career by becoming Board Certified in Opticinary. She has a vast knowledge and experience in the optical field, working both in retail and medical settings before finding her home at Specnique. Dr Stephanie Thiers knowledge, fresh approach to eye care, and her love for classy fun eyewear was a perfect fit for Jill. You will notice Jill doesn’t consider this a “job” by the smile and enthusiasm about vision and eye care! She considers herself an “optical nerd!” In her free time Jill enjoys being a mom, gardening and reading optical magazines to keep her patients up to date with the best vision possible!
